The first ever performance broadcast by satellite around the world, the Aloha from Hawaii concert on January 14, 1973 was watched by over a billion viewers worldwide, remaining the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.  Ironically, the concert didn't air in the U.S. until April 4, 1973, due to a scheduling conflict with the Superbowl.
